The Foundation Team
Keith A. Curtis, CFRE
Executive Director
“It is an honour to serve you as the Executive Director for the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation. I follow in the footsteps of some of the most ardent community leaders and I am excited every day to take up the challenge of that stewardship. I enjoy working with all of our donors, volunteers and sponsors in the pursuit of excellence in healthcare for our region. Please feel free to contact me regarding your vision of healthcare excellence for our region.”
Keith was born in southeastern Saskatchewan and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He has always considered himself a displaced farm boy. You can take the boy off the farm but you can’t take the farm out of the boy. There will always be part of him that is attached to the farm. Keith is married to his childhood sweetheart and has two grown daughters.
Keith’s life was strongly influenced by his involvement with the Cadet movement and time in the Militia. These organizations provided him with a strong sense of personal discipline, organizational skills and leadership training. They also provided him with a sense of giving back and a responsibility to his community and his country.
As well Keith apprenticed as a Chef in Calgary and led culinary teams in several private professional clubs and private golf clubs. Having an entrepreneurial spirit, Keith has owned several food service businesses in Cochrane, Grande Prairie and Medicine Hat including being a partner in The Grande Prairie Keg Steakhouse and Bar for twenty-one (21) years. These businesses led Keith to his desire and necessity to be a lifelong learner taking business and leadership courses through the University of Athabasca and the University of Calgary. Throughout his career in business, he always believed in giving back to the communities in which he does business and has always seen it as a key responsibility and success factor. After thirty-five (35) years he left his culinary and entrepreneurial pursuits behind to pursue a career in philanthropy.
Keith has been a board member and Chairperson for a number of Grande Prairie organizations and charities over the past twenty-five (25) years. Currently he is the Vice-Chairperson for the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, Canadian Council and the Chairperson of the Strategic Renewal Committee for the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy Canada.
On a personal level, Keith enjoys skiing, hiking, kayaking, fishing and is an avid reader. It is not uncommon for him to have four or five books on the go at any given time.

Amanda Gagnon
Communications Officer
"I have lived in Grande Prairie for over 20 years. Born and raised in small town Québec, I have lived and worked in many provinces across Canada. I am new to your Foundation, bringing a background in print journalism, experience in graphic design, as well as communications and marketing for higher education.
I believe in finding the good in people wherever I go, creating long-lasting relationships, and finding a reason to laugh no matter what the world has thrown at us.
I have two energetic and compassionate sons, and an amazing husband who remind me daily to be kind and authentic. Together, we like to travel to sunny destinations and enjoy the beach.
I am grateful to work in a role that gives back to your community, and I’m honoured to be able to tell your story. "

Christine Jones
Administrative Coordinator
Christine is the Administration Officer and has a long history of working in the charitable sector. She is originally from Stratford, Ontario and moved to Grande Prairie to be closer to family. She feels fortunate to have lived and worked in many cities and towns across Canada and internationally, and is thrilled to continue working in the non-profit sector in Grand Prairie.
Chris started in the world of non-profits when she was 15 at the YMCA in Stratford. The communal embodiment celebrating family, helping, learning, camaraderie and mentoring was felt immediately and is what continues to drive her passion in the non-profit industry. Change, multi-task, humble, amazement, laughter and support are more than words – they are her every day, and what makes working for the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation exciting and fulfilling.
Chris takes inspiration from many different areas of life; whether it’s words of wisdom from one of her daughters or granddaughters, a quote from a book, the feel of a piece of art, or watching and listening to others, there’s always something to learn and incorporate into her daily life. She loves to travel, explore, read and, of course, spend time with family and friends. Warm temperatures, sun, sand, sea, snorkeling and relaxing afterwards is an ideal day for her.

Paula moved to Grande Prairie from Ontario in 2001, after taking a year to travel all over the place. Her travels also included living in Russia for a few months as a youth coordinator and working in drama and various other artistic ventures. After that, she decided to settle in the Grande Prairie area.
Paula’s background is in arts with drama, acting and storytelling. For many many years Paula was owner-operator of a successful business called “ Little Lucy’s clown caboose “ in 2004 she presented the Therapeutic Clown Program to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation.
As the years passed and life at home with kiddos became crazy busy Paula decided to focus more on the therapeutic clowning side of the business and retired her alter ego ”Little Lucy”. Paula’s Butterfly character as the therapeutic hospital clown has been operating for 16 years in Grande Prairie.
Another joy in Paula’s life is truly her family and children with 2 teens, 1 tween and a toddler, the home is also occupied by the cat who rules over the dog and parrot.
